Job Description
We are currently seeking a manual Machinist. This position is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts for the Mechanical Lab.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate metal lathe to perform repairs by “bore and bush of end bells”, which is the machining of end bells for servo motors.
- Set up and operate surface grinder and metal saw in the process of machining parts, as needed.
- Use measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, indicators, calipers, etc.) in the machining of parts, as needed.
- Maintain operator safety for all of the machines (e.g. lathe, surface grinder, saw, etc.).
- Keep work area clean and orderly at all times.
- Handle special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Possess mechanical aptitude
- Basic math skills
