Job Description

We are currently seeking a manual Machinist. This position is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts for the Mechanical Lab.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate metal lathe to perform repairs by “bore and bush of end bells”, which is the machining of end bells for servo motors.
  • Set up and operate surface grinder and metal saw in the process of machining parts, as needed.
  • Use measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, indicators, calipers, etc.) in the machining of parts, as needed.
  • Maintain operator safety for all of the machines (e.g. lathe, surface grinder, saw, etc.).
  • Keep work area clean and orderly at all times.
  • Handle special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Possess mechanical aptitude
  • Basic math skills
