Brakes and Clutches

• Ensure smooth, even contact—engage at power-OFF, release at power-ON

• Test release voltage (Vdc), holding torque (Nm), and coil resistance (Ω)

• Cut friction discs with Kitamura CNC, bond, and dry in a GRIEVE oven overnight

• Insulate with Nomex, wet wind, and pot the rewound coil in epoxy

• Surface grind spacers, pressure plates, and cover plates with Blanchard Grinder
 

• Assemble the brake coil, pressure plate, friction disc, cover plate, springs, and hub

• Retest and adjust the air gap; mark holding torque and release voltage
